Ya Hanana

Ya Hanana (Arabic: يا حنانا) roughly translates to “Oh, what bliss!” or “Oh, what a blessing!”. It praises the arrival of the Prophet ﷺ as a mercy to the world.

Ya Hanana Lyrics
ظَهَرَ الدِّينُ المُؤَيَّدُ بِظُهُورِ النَّبِيِّ أَحْمَدَ ❁
Ẓahara d-dīnu l-mu'ayyadu, bi ẓuhūri n-Nabī Aḥmad.
1. The divinely supported religion was manifested with the appearance of the Prophet Ahmad.
يَا هَنَاءً بِمُحَمَّدٍ ذَلِكَ الفَضْلُ مِنَ اللهِ ❁
Yā hanānan bi Muḥammad, dhālika l-faḍlu mina Llāh.
2. We are in bliss due to Muhammad; this is a tremendous Bounty from Allah.
خُصَّ بِالسَّبْعِ المَثَانِي ❁ وَحَوَى لُطْفَ المَعَانِي ❁
Khuṣṣa bi-s-sabʿi l-mathānī, wa ḥawā luṭfa l-maʿānī.
3. He was uniquely granted the Seven Oft-Repeated Verses, encompassing the depths of their meanings.
مَا لَهُ فِي الخَلْقِ ثَانِي ❁ وَعَلَيْهِ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ ❁
Mā lahu fī l-khalqi thānī, wa ʿalayhi anzala Llāh.
4. There is none like him in all creation, upon whom Allah revealed [the Qur'an].
مِنْ مَكَّةٍ لَمَّا ظَهَرَ ❁ لِأَجْلِهِ انْشَقَّ القَمَرُ ❁
Min Makkatin lammā ẓahar, li-ajlihi-nshaqqa l-qamar.
5. From Makkah he emerged, and for his sake, the moon was split in two.
وَافْتَخَرَتْ آلُ مُضَرَ ❁ بِهِ عَلَى كُلِّ الْأَنَامِ ❁
Wafatakharat ālu Muḍar, bihi ʿalā kulli l-anāmī.
6. By [virtue of him] the people of Muḍar excelled above all of creation.
صَلُّوا عَلَى خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ ❁ الْمُصْطَفَى بَدْرِ التَّمَامِ ❁
Ṣallū ʿalā khayri l-anāmī, al-Muṣṭafā badri t-tamāmī.
7. Send blessings upon the Best of Creation, the Chosen One, the full moon in perfection.
صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا ❁ يَشْفَعْ لَنَا يَوْمَ الزِّحَامِ ❁
Ṣallū ʿalayhi wa sallimū, yashfaʿ lanā yawma z-ziḥām.
8. Send blessings and peace upon him, for he will intercede for us on the Day of Gathering.
