Ya Habib Allah Habibana
Lyrics
يَا حَبِيبَ اللَّهْ حَبِيبَنَا ❁ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهْ يَا سَيِّدَنَا ❁
Yā ḥabība Llāh ḥabībanā, yā rasūla Llāh yā sīdnā.
1. O Beloved of Allah, our beloved, O Messenger of Allah, our master.
فِيكَ يَا مَوْلَانَا سُدْنَا ❁ يَا مَرْفُوعَ الشَّأْنْ ❁
Fīka yā mawlānā sudnā, yā marfūʿa sh-sha'n.
2. Through you, O our master, we attained honour, O one of exalted rank.
يَا مَوْلَانَا نَحْنُ فِدَاكَ ❁ رَبُّ النَّاسِ لَقَدْ صَفَاكَ ❁
Yā mawlānā naḥnu fidāka, Rabbu n-nāsi laqad ṣafāka.
3. O our master, we sacrifice ourselves for you; the Lord of mankind has chosen you.
لَمَّا تَوَلَّاكْ وَاصْطَفَاكَ ❁ مِنْ وَلَدْ عَدْنَانْ ❁
Lammā tawallāk wa-ṣṭafāka, min walad ʿAdnān.
4. When He took you under His care and chose you from the descendants of Adnan.
رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ حَبَاكَ الْجَاهَا ❁ وَالْآيَاتُ حَبَّتْكَ ثَنَاهَا ❁
Rabbu l-ʿarshi ḥabāka l-jāhā, wa-l-āyātu ḥabbatka thanāhā.
5. The Lord of the Throne bestowed honour upon you, and the revealed verses proclaim your praise.
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ يَا طَهَ ❁ يَا حَبِيبَ الرَّحْمَانْ ❁
Ṣallā Llāhu ʿalayka yā Ṭāhā, yā ḥabība r-Raḥmān.
6. May Allah send prayers upon you, O Taha, O beloved of the Most Compassionate.
مِنْكَ عَرَفْنَا أَسْمَى فِكْرَةْ ❁ وَالْبُشْرَى بِالْجَنَّةْ الْخَضْرَاءْ ❁
Minka ʿarafnā asmā fikrah, wa-l-bushrā bi-l-jannah al-khaḍrā'.
7. Through you we came to know the loftiest thought and the glad tidings of verdant Paradise.
وَنَعِيمْ بِمَسَرَّةْ وَنَظْرَةْ ❁ إِنْ صَحَّ الْإِيمَانْ ❁
Wa-naʿīm bi-masarrah wa-naẓrah, in ṣaḥḥa l-īmān.
8. And bliss with joy and a vision [of Allah], if one’s faith is sound.
زُوَّارَةْ زُوَّارَةْ ❁ مَحْلَى لَمِّةْ زُوَّارَةْ ❁
Zuwwārah zuwwārah, maḥlā lammit zuwwārah.
9. Visitors, visitors! How beautiful is the gathering of the visitors.
مُتَعَنِّينَ عَلَى الْهَادِي ❁ نَتَمَتَّعُ بِأَنْوَارْ ❁
Mutaʿannīn ʿalā l-hādī, natamattaʿ bi-anwār.
10. Journeying towards the guide, delighting in lights.
يَا آلَ طَهَ الْهَادِي ❁ يَا أَهْلَ الْعَبَايَةْ أَسْيَادِي ❁
Yā āla Ṭāhā l-hādī, yā ahla l-ʿabāyah asyādī.
11. O Family of Taha, the guide, O people of the cloak, my masters.
مِنْكُمْ أُرِيدْ إِمْدَادِي ❁ صَلُّوا عَلَى أَبَا الزَّهْرَا ❁
Minkum urīd imdādī, ṣallū ʿalā Abā z-Zahrā.
12. From you I seek spiritual support. Send prayers upon the father of al-Zahra.
أَحْبَابْ أَحْنَا تَعَنِّينَا ❁ لِنَزُورْ أَحْمَدْ نَبِيَّنَا ❁
Aḥbāb aḥnā taʿannīnā, li-nazūr Aḥmad nabīnā.
13. Beloved ones, we have set out to visit Ahmad, our Prophet.
مِنْ سُورِيَا لِلْمَدِينَةْ ❁ شِنَّهَا وَمَضِّةْ إِشَارَةْ ❁
Min Sūriyā li-l-Madīnah, shinnahā wa-maḍḍit ishārah.
14. From Syria to Madinah, as though it were a fleeting flash.
تَحْتَ الْقُبَّةْ دَعَيْنَا ❁ يَا رَبِّي تَجُودْ عَلَيْنَا ❁
Taḥta l-qubbah daʿaynā, yā Rabbī tajūd ʿalaynā.
15. Beneath the dome we offered our supplication: “O my Lord, bestow Your grace upon us.”
مُتَعَنِّينْ عَلَى الْهَادِي ❁ شِيبْ وَشَبَابْ الْحَارَةْ ❁
Mutaʿannīn ʿalā l-hādī, shīb wa-shabāb al-ḥārah.
16. Journeying towards the guide, the elders and youth of the neighbourhood.
