The Shimmering Light Mawlid (Arabic: الضياء اللامع بذكر مولد النبي الشافع; Al-Diya al-Lami bi-Dhikr Mawlid al-Nabi al-Shafi; “The Shimmering Light on the Birth of the Interceding Prophet ﷺ”) is a contemporary mawlid composed by Habib Umar bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafiz, a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and one of the leading scholars of Tarim, Yemen. He is the founder of Dar al-Mustafa, an institute dedicated to the teaching of the traditional Islamic sciences, and travels extensively throughout the world calling people to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. The poem recounts the blessed birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, his upbringing, noble character, and life, interwoven with verses of praise and supplication. It is widely recited throughout the Muslim world, particularly on Thursday evenings and during gatherings held to commemorate the Prophet’s ﷺ blessed birth.

14. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
Qur'anic Verses
أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ ❁
Aʿūdhu bi-Llāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm.
15. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ❁

﴿إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِينًا ❁ لِّيَغْفِرَ لَكَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكَ وَيَهْدِيَكَ صِرَٰطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا ❁ وَيَنصُرَكَ ٱللَّهُ نَصْرًا عَزِيزًا ❁﴾
﴾Innā fataḥnā laka fatḥan mubīnan, li-yaghfira laka Llāhu mā taqaddama min dhanbika wa-mā ta'akhkhara wa-yutimma niʿmatahu ʿalayka wa-yahdiyaka ṣirāṭan mustaqīman, wa-yanṣuraka Llāhu naṣran ʿazīzā﴿.
17. “Indeed, We have granted you a clear triumph, so that Allah may forgive you what has preceded of your shortcomings and what is to come, complete His favour upon you, guide you along a straight path, and grant you a mighty victory.” (48:1–3)
﴿لَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ ❁ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ❁﴾
﴾Laqad jā'akum rasūlun min anfusikum ʿazīzun ʿalayhi mā ʿanittum ḥarīṣun ʿalaykum bi-l-mu'minīna ra'ūfun raḥīmun, fa-in tawallaw faqul ḥasbiya Llāhu lā ilāha illā huwa ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa-huwa Rabbu l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīm﴿.
18. “There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Your suffering weighs heavily upon him. He is deeply concerned for you, and towards the believers he is compassionate and merciful. But if they turn away, then say, ‘Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god but Him. In Him I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.’” (9:128–129)
﴿إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسْلِيمًا ❁﴾
﴾Inna Llāha wa-malā'ikatahu yuṣallūna ʿalā n-nabiyyi, yā ayyuha lladhīna āmanū ṣallū ʿalayhi wa-sallimū taslīmā﴿.
19. “Indeed, Allah and His Angels send prayers upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send prayers upon him and greet him with peace.” (33:56)
Chapter 1
Opening Praise and Invocation
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim wa-bārik ʿalayhi wa-ʿalā ālih.
20. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا ❁
بِعَبْدِهِ الْمُخْتَارِ مَنْ دَعَانَا ❁
بِعَبْدِهِ الْمُخْتَارِ مَنْ دَعَانَا ❁
Al-ḥamdu li-Llāhi lladhī hadānā,
bi-ʿabdihi l-mukhtāri man daʿānā.
bi-ʿabdihi l-mukhtāri man daʿānā.
21. Praise be to Allah, Who guided us,
through His chosen slave, the one who called us

إِلَيْهِ بِالْإِذْنِ وَقَدْ نَادَانَا ❁
لَبَّيْكَ يَا مَنْ دَلَّنَا وَحَدَانَا ❁
لَبَّيْكَ يَا مَنْ دَلَّنَا وَحَدَانَا ❁
Ilayhi bi-l-idhni wa-qad nādānā,
labbayka yā man dallanā wa-ḥadānā.

22. to Him by His permission, and summoned us.

صَلَّى عَلَيْكَ اللَّهُ بَارِئُكَ الَّذِي ❁
بِكَ يَا مُشَفَّعُ خَصَّنَا وَحَبَانَا ❁
بِكَ يَا مُشَفَّعُ خَصَّنَا وَحَبَانَا ❁
Ṣallā ʿalayka Llāhu Bāri'uka lladhī,
bika yā mushaffaʿu khaṣṣanā wa-ḥabānā.

23. May Allah, your Creator, send prayers upon you,
for through you, O Intercessor, He has favoured and honoured us.

مَعَ آلِكَ الْأَطْهَارِ مَعْدِنِ سِرِّكَ ❁
الْأَسْمَى فَهُمْ سُفُنُ النَّجَاةِ حِمَانَا ❁
الْأَسْمَى فَهُمْ سُفُنُ النَّجَاةِ حِمَانَا ❁
Maʿa ālika l-aṭhāri maʿdini sirrika,
l-asmā fahum sufunu n-najāti ḥimānā.

24. And upon your pure Family, the source of your most exalted secret,
for they are the ships of salvation, our refuge and our safety.

وَعَلَى صَحَابَتِكَ الْكِرَامِ حُمَاةِ دِيـ
ـنِكَ أَصْبَحُوا لِوَلَائِهِ عُنْوَانَا ❁

Wa-ʿalā ṣaḥābatika l-kirāmi ḥumāti dī-
nika aṣbaḥū li-walā'ihi ʿunwānā.

25. And upon your Companions the guardians of your faith,
who became, through their loyalty to you, its enduring emblem.

وَالتَّابِعِينَ لَهُمْ بِصِدْقٍ مَا حَدَى ❁
حَادِي الْمَوَدَّةِ هَيَّجَ الْأَشْجَانَا ❁
حَادِي الْمَوَدَّةِ هَيَّجَ الْأَشْجَانَا ❁
Wa-t-tābiʿīna lahum bi-ṣidqin mā ḥadā,
ḥādi l-mawaddati hayyaja l-ashjānā.

26. And upon those who followed them with sincerity,
whenever the guide of love stirred their hearts to yearning.

وَاللَّهِ مَا ذُكِرَ الْحَبِيبُ لَدَى الْمُحِبِّ ❁
إِلَّا وَأَضْحَى وَالِهًا نَشْوَانَا ❁
إِلَّا وَأَضْحَى وَالِهًا نَشْوَانَا ❁
Wa-Llāhi mā dhukira l-ḥabību ladā l-muḥibbi,
illā wa-aḍḥā wālihan nashwānā.

27. By Allah, whenever the Beloved is mentioned before the lover,
he becomes enraptured, lost in longing and ecstasy.

أَيْنَ الْمُحِبُّونَ الَّذِينَ عَلَيْهِمُ ❁
بَذْلُ النُّفُوسِ مَعَ النَّفَائِسِ هَانَا ❁
بَذْلُ النُّفُوسِ مَعَ النَّفَائِسِ هَانَا ❁
Ayna l-muḥibbūna lladhīna ʿalayhimu,
badhlu n-nufūsi maʿa n-nafā'isi hānā.

28. Where are the lovers, those for whom
it was made easy to give their very souls along with all their treasures?

لَا يَسْمَعُونَ بِذِكْرِ طَهَ الْمُصْطَفَى ❁
إِلَّا بِهِ انْتَعَشُوا وَأَذْهَبَ رَانَا ❁
إِلَّا بِهِ انْتَعَشُوا وَأَذْهَبَ رَانَا ❁
Lā yasmaʿūna bi-dhikri Ṭāha l-Muṣṭafā,
illā bihi-ntaʿashū wa-adhhaba rānā.
illā bihi-ntaʿashū wa-adhhaba rānā.
29. They never hear the mention of Taha, the Chosen One,
without being revived by it and freed from every veil upon their hearts.

فَاهْتَاجَتِ الْأَرْوَاحُ تَشْتَاقُ اللِّقَا ❁
وَتَحِنُّ تَسْأَلُ رَبَّهَا الرِّضْوَانَا ❁
وَتَحِنُّ تَسْأَلُ رَبَّهَا الرِّضْوَانَا ❁
Fa-htājati l-arwāḥu tashtāqu l-liqā,
wa-taḥinnu tas'alu Rabbahā r-riḍwānā.
wa-taḥinnu tas'alu Rabbahā r-riḍwānā.
30. Then the souls were stirred, longing for reunion,
and they yearned, imploring their Lord for His eternal pleasure.

حَالُ الْمُحِبِّينَ كَذَا فَاسْمَعْ إِلَى ❁
سِيَرِ الْمُشَفَّعِ وَارْهِفِ الْآذَانَا ❁
سِيَرِ الْمُشَفَّعِ وَارْهِفِ الْآذَانَا ❁
Ḥālu l-muḥibbīna kadhā fasmaʿ ilā,
siyari l-mushaffaʿi wa-rhifi l-ādhānā.

31. Such is the state of the lovers, so listen,
lend your ear attentively to the stories of the Intercessor.

وَانْصِتْ إِلَى أَوْصَافِ طَهَ الْمُجْتَبَى ❁
وَاحْضِرْ لِقَلْبِكَ يَمْتَلِئْ وِجْدَانَا ❁
وَاحْضِرْ لِقَلْبِكَ يَمْتَلِئْ وِجْدَانَا ❁
Wa-nṣit ilā awṣāfi Ṭāha l-mujtabā,
wa-ḥḍir li-qalbika yamtali' wijdānā.
wa-ḥḍir li-qalbika yamtali' wijdānā.
32. Listen to the descriptions of Taha, the Chosen One,
and bring your heart present so it may be filled with love and rapture.

يَا رَبَّنَا صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا ❁
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ مَنْ إِلَيْكَ دَعَانَا ❁

Yā Rabbanā ṣalli wa-sallim dā'iman,
ʿalā ḥabībika man ilayka daʿānā.

33. O our Lord, send constant prayers and peace,
upon Your Beloved, the one who called us unto You.

Chapter 2
The Prophetic Light and Noble Origins
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim wa-bārik ʿalayhi wa-ʿalā ālih.
35. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
نَبَّأَنَا اللَّهُ فَقَالَ جَاءَكُمْ ❁
نُورٌ فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَنْبَانَا ❁
نُورٌ فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَنْبَانَا ❁
Nabba'anā Llāhu fa-qāla jā'akum,
nūrun, fa-subḥāna lladhī anbānā.

36. Allah has informed us, saying: “There has come to you a light,”
so glory be to the One Who has made this known to us.

وَالنُّورُ طَهَ عَبْدُهُ مَنَّ بِهِ ❁
فِي ذِكْرِهِ أَعْظِمْ بِهِ مَنَّانَا ❁
فِي ذِكْرِهِ أَعْظِمْ بِهِ مَنَّانَا ❁
Wa-n-nūru Ṭāhā ʿabduhu manna bihi,
fī dhikrihi aʿẓim bihi Mannānā.

37. And that light is Taha, His slave, whom He bestowed upon us,
as declared in His revelation. How great He is as the Bestower!

هُوَ رَحْمَةُ الْمَوْلَى تَأَمَّلْ قَوْلَهُ ❁
فَلْيَفْرَحُوا وَاغْدُ بِهِ فَرْحَانَا ❁
فَلْيَفْرَحُوا وَاغْدُ بِهِ فَرْحَانَا ❁
Huwa raḥmatu l-Mawlā ta'ammal qawlahu,
fa-l-yafraḥū wa-ghdu bihi farḥānā.

38. He is the mercy of the Lord, reflect upon His words,
“let them rejoice!” so go forth in joy because of him.

مُسْتَمْسِكًا بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَى ❁
وَمُعْتَصِمًا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَنْشَانَا ❁

Mustamsikan bi-l-ʿurwati l-wuthqā,
wa-muʿtaṣiman bi-ḥabli Llāhi man anshānā.

39. Holding fast to the firmest handhold,
clinging to the rope of Allah, the One Who created and raised us.

وَاسْتَشْعِرَنْ أَنْوَارَ مَنْ قِيلَ مَتَى ❁
كُنْتَ نَبِيًّا قَالَ آدَمُ كَانَا ❁

Wa-stashʿiran anwāra man qīla matā,

40. And feel the lights of the one who, when asked, “When were you a prophet?”

بَيْنَ التُّرَابِ وَبَيْنَ مَاءٍ فَاسْتَفِقْ ❁
مِنْ غَفْلَةٍ عَنْ ذَا وَكُنْ يَقْظَانَا ❁

Bayna t-turābi wa-bayna mā'in fa-stafiq,
min ghaflatin ʿan dhā wa-kun yaqẓānā.

41. between dust and water.” So awaken
from heedlessness of this, and remain alert.

وَاعْبُرْ إِلَى أَسْرَارِ رَبِّي لَمْ يَزَلْ ❁
يَنْقُلُنِي بَيْنَ الْخِيَارِ مُصَانَا ❁

Wa-ʿbur ilā asrāri Rabbī lam yazal,
yanqulunī bayna l-khiyāri muṣānā.

42. And enter into the mysteries of these words, “My Lord has ever
transferred me among the choicest, keeping me protected.

لَمْ تَفْتَرِقْ مِنْ شُعْبَتَيْنِ إِلَّا أَنَا ❁
فِي خَيْرِهَا حَتَّى بُرُوزِيَ آنَا ❁

Lam taftariq min shuʿbatayni illā anā,
fī khayrihā ḥattā burūziya ānā.

43. Never did the two ancestral lines divide but that I
was in their noblest branch until the time of my appearance came.

فَأَنَا خِيَارٌ مِنْ خِيَارٍ قَدْ خَرَجْتُ ❁
مِنْ نِكَاحٍ لِي إِلَـٰهِي صَانَا ❁

Fa-anā khiyārun min khiyārin qad kharajtu,
min nikāḥin lī Ilāhī ṣānā.

44. For I am the choicest of the chosen, brought forth,
through lawful wedlock, my Lord has ever kept me pure.”

طَهَّرَهُ اللَّهُ حَمَاهُ اخْتَارَهُ ❁
وَمَا بَرَى كَمِثْلِهِ إِنْسَانَا ❁

Ṭahharahu Llāhu ḥamāhu khtārahu,
wa-mā barā ka-mithlihi insānā.

45. Allah purified him, protected him, and chose him,
and never did He create a human being like him.

وَبِحُبِّهِ وَبِذِكْرِهِ وَالنَّصْرِ وَالتَّـ
ـوْقِيرِ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ قَدْ أَوْصَانَا ❁
ـوْقِيرِ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ قَدْ أَوْصَانَا ❁
Wa-bi-ḥubbihi wa-bi-dhikrihi wa-n-naṣri wa-t-
tawqīri Rabbu l-ʿarshi qad awṣānā.

46. To love him, remember him, support him and revere him,
the Lord of the Throne has commanded us.

يَا رَبَّنَا صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا ❁
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ مَنْ إِلَيْكَ دَعَانَا ❁

Yā Rabbanā ṣalli wa-sallim dā'iman,
ʿalā ḥabībika man ilayka daʿānā.

47. O our Lord, send constant prayers and peace,
upon Your Beloved, the one who called us unto You.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim wa-bārik ʿalayhi wa-ʿalā ālih.
48. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
Chapter 3
The Excellence and Rank of the Prophet ﷺ
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim wa-bārik ʿalayhi wa-ʿalā ālih.
49. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
هَذَا وَقَدْ نَشَرَ الْإِلَـٰهُ نُعُوتَهُ ❁
فِي الْكُتْبِ بَيَّنَهَا لَنَا تِبْيَانَا ❁
فِي الْكُتْبِ بَيَّنَهَا لَنَا تِبْيَانَا ❁
Hādhā wa-qad nashara l-Ilāhu nuʿūtahu,
fī l-kutbi bayyanahā lanā tibyānā.

50. His Lord has spread forth His slave’s noble qualities,
and made them clear to us in the Scriptures with perfect clarity.

أَخَذَ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا ❁
آتَيْتُكُمْ مِنْ حِكْمَةٍ إِحْسَانَا ❁
آتَيْتُكُمْ مِنْ حِكْمَةٍ إِحْسَانَا ❁
Akhadha mīthāqa n-nabiyyīna lamā,
ātaytukum min ḥikmatin iḥsānā.

51. He took the covenant of the Prophets,
“Whatever wisdom I have bestowed upon you in kindness,

وَجَاءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ ❁
وَتَنْصُرُونَ وَتُصْبِحُونَ أَعْوَانَا ❁
وَتَنْصُرُونَ وَتُصْبِحُونَ أَعْوَانَا ❁
Wa-jā'akum rasūlunā latu'minunna,
wa-tanṣurūna wa-tuṣbiḥūna aʿwānā.
wa-tanṣurūna wa-tuṣbiḥūna aʿwānā.
52. when Our Messenger comes to you, you shall surely believe in him,
support him and become his helpers.”

قَدْ بَشَّرُوا أَقْوَامَهُمْ بِالْمُصْطَفَى ❁
أَعْظِمْ بِذَلِكَ رُتْبَةً وَمَكَانَا ❁
أَعْظِمْ بِذَلِكَ رُتْبَةً وَمَكَانَا ❁
Qad bashsharū aqwāmahum bi-l-Muṣṭafā,
aʿẓim bi-dhālika rutbatan wa-makānā.

53. They gave glad tidings to their peoples of the Chosen One,
how exalted is that rank and how lofty that station!

فَهُوَ وَإِنْ جَاءَ الْأَخِيرُ مُقَدَّمٌ ❁
يَمْشُونَ تَحْتَ لِوَاءِ مَنْ نَادَانَا ❁
يَمْشُونَ تَحْتَ لِوَاءِ مَنْ نَادَانَا ❁
Fa-huwa wa-in jā'a l-akhīru muqaddamun,
yamshūna taḥta liwā'i man nādānā.

54. Though he came last in time, he is foremost in rank,
and all the Prophets shall walk beneath the banner of the one who called us.

يَا أُمَّةَ الْإِسْلَامِ أَوَّلُ شَافِعٍ ❁
وَمُشَفَّعٍ أَنَا قَطُّ لَا أَتَوَانَى ❁
وَمُشَفَّعٍ أَنَا قَطُّ لَا أَتَوَانَى ❁
Yā ummata l-Islāmi awwalu shāfiʿin,
wa-mushaffaʿin anā qaṭṭu lā atawānā.

55. O nation of Islam, I am the first to intercede,
and the first whose intercession shall be accepted. I shall never hesitate.

حَتَّى أُنَادَى ارْفَعْ وَسَلْ تُعْطَ وَقُلْ ❁
يُسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِكَ نَجْمُ فَخْرِكَ بَانَا ❁
يُسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِكَ نَجْمُ فَخْرِكَ بَانَا ❁
Ḥattā unādā rfaʿ wa-sal tuʿṭa wa-qul,
yusmaʿ li-qawlika najmu fakhrika bānā.

56. Until it is said to me: “Raise your head, ask and you shall be given,
speak and you shall be heard,” then the star of your glory will shine forth.

وَلِوَاءُ حَمْدِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ بِيَدِي ❁
وَلَأَوَّلًا آتِي أَنَا الْجِنَانَا ❁

Wa-liwā'u ḥamdi Llāhi jalla bi-yadī,
wa-la'awwalan ātī ana l-jinānā.

57. The banner of divine praise shall be in my hand,
and I will be the very first to enter the Gardens of Paradise.

وَأَكْرَمُ الْخَلْقِ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنَا ❁
فَلَقَدْ حَبَاكَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ حَنَانَا ❁
فَلَقَدْ حَبَاكَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ حَنَانَا ❁
Wa-akramu l-khalqi ʿalā Llāhi anā,
fa-laqad ḥabāka Llāhu minhu ḥanānā.
fa-laqad ḥabāka Llāhu minhu ḥanānā.
58. I am the most honoured of all creation before Allah,
and truly, Allah has bestowed upon you tenderness from Himself.

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ فَتَرْضَى جَلَّ مِنْ ❁
مُعْطٍ تَقَاصَرَ عَنْ عَطَاهُ نُهَانَا ❁
مُعْطٍ تَقَاصَرَ عَنْ عَطَاهُ نُهَانَا ❁
Wa-la-sawfa yuʿṭīka fa-tarḍā jalla min,
Muʿṭin taqāṣara ʿan ʿaṭāhu nuhānā.
Muʿṭin taqāṣara ʿan ʿaṭāhu nuhānā.
59. And surely He will give you until you are well pleased,
exalted is the Giver Whose bounty our minds cannot encompass.

بِاللَّهِ كَرِّرْ ذِكْرَ وَصْفِ مُحَمَّدٍ ❁
كَيْمَا تُزِيحَ عَنِ الْقُلُوبِ الرَّانَا ❁
كَيْمَا تُزِيحَ عَنِ الْقُلُوبِ الرَّانَا ❁
Bi-Llāhi karrir dhikra waṣfi Muḥammadin,
kaymā tuzīḥa ʿani l-qulūbi r-rānā.

60. By Allah, repeat often the description of Muhammad,
so that the rust upon the hearts may be removed.

62. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
Chapter 4
The Blessed Birth of the Prophet ﷺ
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim wa-bārik ʿalayhi wa-ʿalā ālih.
63. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
لَمَّا دَنَا وَقْتُ الْبُرُوزِ لِأَحْمَدٍ ❁
عَنْ إِذْنِ مَنْ مَا شَاءَهُ قَدْ كَانَا ❁
عَنْ إِذْنِ مَنْ مَا شَاءَهُ قَدْ كَانَا ❁
Lammā danā waqtu l-burūzi li-Aḥmadin,
ʿan idhni man mā shā'ahu qad kānā.
ʿan idhni man mā shā'ahu qad kānā.
64. When the time drew near for Ahmad’s appearing,
by the command of Him Whose will is ever done, Whose decree is ever fulfilled.

حَمَلَتْ بِهِ الْأُمُّ الْأَمِينَةُ بِنْتُ وَهْـ
ـبٍ مَنْ لَهَا أَعْلَى الْإِلَـٰهُ مَكَانَا ❁
ـبٍ مَنْ لَهَا أَعْلَى الْإِلَـٰهُ مَكَانَا ❁
Ḥamalat bihi l-ummu l-amīnatu bintu Wah-
bin man lahā aʿla l-Ilāhu makānā.

65. His trustworthy mother, the daughter of Wahb, carried him,
she whose station Allah raised.

مِنْ وَالِدِ الْمُخْتَارِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِنْ ❁
عَبْدٍ لِمُطَّلِبٍ رَأَى الْبُرْهَانَا ❁
عَبْدٍ لِمُطَّلِبٍ رَأَى الْبُرْهَانَا ❁
Min wālidi l-mukhtāri ʿAbdi Llāhi bin,
ʿAbdin li-Muṭṭalibin ra'a l-burhānā.

66. From the father of the Chosen One Abdullah, son of
Abd al-Muttalib, who beheld the shining sign and radiant proof.

قَدْ كَانَ يَغْمُرُ نُورُ طَهَ وَجْهَهُ ❁
وَسَرَى إِلَى الْإِبْنِ الْمَصُونِ عَيَانَا ❁
وَسَرَى إِلَى الْإِبْنِ الْمَصُونِ عَيَانَا ❁
Qad kāna yaghmuru nūru Ṭāhā wajhahu,
wa-sarā ilā l-ibni l-maṣūni ʿayānā.

67. The light of Taha shone upon his face,
and passed visibly to the protected son.

وَهُوَ ابْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْكَرِيمِ الشَّهْمِ بْنِ ❁
عَبْدِ مَنَافِ اِبْنِ قُصَيٍّ كَانَا ❁
عَبْدِ مَنَافِ اِبْنِ قُصَيٍّ كَانَا ❁
Wa-huwa bnu Hāshimini l-karīmi sh-shahmi bni,
ʿAbdi Manāfi bni Quṣayyin kānā.

68. He is the son of Hashim the noble, the valiant, son of
Abd Manaf, son of Qusayy, of honoured lineage and name.

وَالِدُهُ يُدْعَى حَكِيمًا شَأْنُهُ ❁
قَدِ اعْتَلَى أَعْزِزْ بِذَلِكَ شَانَا ❁
قَدِ اعْتَلَى أَعْزِزْ بِذَلِكَ شَانَا ❁
Wāliduhu yudʿā ḥakīman sha'nuhu,
qadi ʿtalā aʿziz bi-dhālika shānā.

69. His forefather was called Hakim of noble esteem,
exalted in rank, and how great indeed was that distinction!

وَاحْفَظْ أُصُولَ الْمُصْطَفَى حَتَّى تَرَى ❁
فِي سِلْسِلَاتِ أُصُولِهِ عَدْنَانَا ❁
فِي سِلْسِلَاتِ أُصُولِهِ عَدْنَانَا ❁
Wa-ḥfaẓ uṣūla l-Muṣṭafā ḥattā tarā,
fī silsilāti uṣūlihi ʿAdnānā.
fī silsilāti uṣūlihi ʿAdnānā.
70. Remember the ancestors of the Chosen One until you find
Adnan in the chain of his forefathers.

فَهُنَاكَ قِفْ وَاعْلَمْ بِرَفْعِهِ إِلَى اسْـ
ـمَاعِيلَ كَانَ لِلْأَبِ مِعْوَانَا ❁
ـمَاعِيلَ كَانَ لِلْأَبِ مِعْوَانَا ❁
Fa-hunāka qif wa-ʿlam bi-rafʿihi ilā s-
mā'īla kāna li-l-abi miʿwānā.

71. There pause and know that his lineage ascends to Ismail,
who was a loyal helper to his father.

وَحِينَمَا حَمَلَتْ بِهِ آمِنَةٌ ❁
لَمْ تَشْكُ شَيْئًا يَأْخُذُ النِّسْوَانَا ❁
لَمْ تَشْكُ شَيْئًا يَأْخُذُ النِّسْوَانَا ❁
Wa-ḥīnamā ḥamalat bihi Āminatun,
lam tashku shay'an ya'khudhu n-niswānā.

72. When Aminah carried him in her womb,
she felt none of the pains that women usually endure.

وَبِهَا أَحَاطَ اللُّطْفُ مِنْ رَبِّ السَّمَا ❁
أَقْصَى الْأَذَى وَالْهَمَّ وَالْأَحْزَانَا ❁
أَقْصَى الْأَذَى وَالْهَمَّ وَالْأَحْزَانَا ❁
Wa-bihā aḥāṭa l-luṭfu min Rabbi s-samā,
aqṣa l-adhā wa-l-hamma wa-l-aḥzānā.

73. The gentleness of the Lord of Heaven encompassed her,
keeping from her all harm, sorrow, and grief.

وَرَأَتْ كَمَا قَدْ جَاءَ مَا عَلِمَتْ بِهِ ❁
أَنَّ الْمُهَيْمِنَ شَرَّفَ الْأَكْوَانَا ❁
أَنَّ الْمُهَيْمِنَ شَرَّفَ الْأَكْوَانَا ❁
Wa-ra'at kamā qad jā'a mā ʿalimat bihi,
anna l-Muhaymina sharrafa l-akwānā.

74. She saw, as has been reported, signs by which she knew
that the All-Protecting had honoured creation

بِالطُّهْرِ مَنْ فِي بَطْنِهَا فَاسْتَبْشَرَتْ ❁
وَدَنَا الْمَخَاضُ فَأُتْرِعَتْ رِضْوَانَا ❁
وَدَنَا الْمَخَاضُ فَأُتْرِعَتْ رِضْوَانَا ❁
Bi-ṭ-ṭuhri man fī baṭnihā fa-stabsharat,
wa-danā l-makhāḍu fa-utriʿat riḍwānā.
wa-danā l-makhāḍu fa-utriʿat riḍwānā.
75. through the pure one in her womb, and she rejoiced.
Labour drew near, and she was filled with contentment.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرْ ❁ (٤)
وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمْ ❁
فِي كُلِّ لَحْظَةٍ أَبَدًا عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ ❁
وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمْ ❁
فِي كُلِّ لَحْظَةٍ أَبَدًا عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ ❁
Subḥāna Llāhi wa-l-ḥamdu li-Llāhi wa-lā ilāha illā Llāhu wa-Llāhu akbar (4×),
wa-lā ḥawla wa-lā quwwata illā bi-Llāhi l-ʿAliyyi l-ʿAẓīm,
fī kulli laḥẓatin abadan ʿadada khalqihi wa-riḍā nafsihi wa-zinata ʿarshihi wa-midāda kalimātih.
wa-lā ḥawla wa-lā quwwata illā bi-Llāhi l-ʿAliyyi l-ʿAẓīm,
fī kulli laḥẓatin abadan ʿadada khalqihi wa-riḍā nafsihi wa-zinata ʿarshihi wa-midāda kalimātih.
76. Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, there is no deity but Allah, and Allah is the greatest (4×).
There is no power and no strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent at every moment, forever, by the number of His creation, by His pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the ink of His words.

وَتَجَلَّتِ الْأَنْوَارُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْجِهَا
تِ فَوَقْتُ مِيلَادِ الْمُشَفَّعِ حَانَا ❁
تِ فَوَقْتُ مِيلَادِ الْمُشَفَّعِ حَانَا ❁
Wa-tajallati l-anwāru min kulli l-jihā-
ti fa-waqtu mīlādi l-mushaffaʿi ḥānā.

77. And lights shone forth from every direction,
for the moment of the Intercessor’s birth had come.

وَقُبَيْلَ فَجْرٍ أَبْرَزَتْ شَمْسَ الْهُدَى ❁
ظَهَرَ الْحَبِيبُ مُكَرَّمًا وَمُصَانَا ❁

Wa-qubayla fajrin abrazat shamsa l-hudā,
ẓahara l-ḥabību mukarraman wa-muṣānā.

78. Just before dawn, the Sun of Guidance rose,
the Beloved appeared, honoured and protected.

The Standing (Qiyam)
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدْ ❁
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ ❁

Ṣallā Llāhu ʿalā Muḥammad,

79. May Allah send prayers upon Muhammad,

80. O Prophet, peace be upon you,

Yā ḥabīb salām ʿalayka (Yā rasūla Llāh),

81. O Beloved, peace be upon you (O Messenger of Allah),

أَبْرَزَ اللَّهُ الْمُشَفَّعْ ❁
صَاحِبَ الْقَدْرِ الْمُرَفَّعْ ❁

Abraza Llāhu l-mushaffaʿ,
ṣāḥiba l-qadri l-muraffaʿ.

82. Allah brought forth the Intercessor,
the one of exalted rank and lofty station.

فَمَلَا النُّورُ النَّوَاحِي (بِرَسُولِ اللَّه) ❁
عَمَّ كُلَّ الْكَوْنِ أَجْمَعْ ❁

Fa-malā n-nūru n-nawāḥī (bi-rasūli Llāh),
ʿamma kulla l-kawni ajmaʿ.

83. Then light filled all the horizons (through the Messenger of Allah),
spreading over the whole expanse of creation.

نُكِّسَتْ أَصْنَامُ شِرْكٍ ❁
وَبِنَا الشِّرْكِ تَصَدَّعْ ❁

Nukkisat aṣnāmu shirkin,
wa-bina sh-shirki taṣaddaʿ.

84. The idols of false worship were overturned,
and the very foundations of polytheism were shattered.

وَدَنَا وَقْتُ الْهِدَايَةْ (بِرَسُولِ اللَّه) ❁
وَحِمَى الْكُفْرِ تَزَعْزَعْ ❁

Wa-danā waqtu l-hidāyah (bi-rasūli Llāh),
wa-ḥimā l-kufri tazaʿzaʿ.

85. The time of guidance drew near (through the Messenger of Allah),
and the fortress of disbelief began to crumble.

مَرْحَبًا أَهْلًا وَسَهْلًا ❁
بِكَ يَا ذَا الْقَدْرِ الْأَرْفَعْ ❁

bika yā dha l-qadri l-arfaʿ.

86. Welcome, a warm and gracious welcome,
to you, O you of the highest and most exalted rank.

مَنْ بِهِ الْآفَاتُ تُدْفَعْ ❁

Yā imāma ahli r-risālah (Yā rasūla Llāh),
man bihi l-āfātu tudfaʿ.

87. O Imam of the people of the Message (O Messenger of Allah),
through whom all afflictions are repelled.

أَنْتَ فِي الْحَشْرِ مَلَاذٌ ❁
لَكَ كُلُّ الْخَلْقِ تَفْزَعْ ❁

Anta fī l-ḥashri malādhun,
laka kullu l-khalqi tafzaʿ.

88. In the gathering on the Day of Resurrection, you are the refuge,
to you all creation shall turn for refuge.

وَيُنَادُونَ تَرَىٰ مَا (يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه) ❁
قَدْ دَهَا مِنْ هَوْلٍ أَفْظَعْ ❁

Wa-yunādūna tarā mā (Yā rasūla Llāh),
qad dahā min hawlin afẓaʿ.

89. And they will cry out, saying, “O Messenger of Allah,
behold what has befallen us of the most terrible dread!”

فَلَهَا أَنْتَ فَتَسْجُدْ (مَرْحَبًا) ❁
وَتُنَادَى اشْفَعْ تُشَفَّعْ (مَرْحَبًا) ❁

Fa-lahā anta fa-tasjud (marḥaban),
wa-tunādā shfaʿ tushaffaʿ (marḥaban).

91. Then, for their sake, you will prostrate. Welcome!
And it will be said to you: “Intercede, and your intercession shall be accepted!” Welcome!

فَعَلَيْكَ اللَّهُ صَلَّى (مَرْحَبًا) ❁

Fa-ʿalayka Llāhu ṣallā (marḥaban),

92. So upon you be Allah’s prayers. Welcome!

Wa-bika r-Raḥmānu nas'al (Yā Allāh),

93. And through you we ask the Most Compassionate, O Allah!
And the Lord of the Throne hears our call, O Allah!

رَبِّ فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي (يَا اللَّه) ❁
بَرْكَةِ الْهَادِي الْمُشَفَّعْ (يَا اللَّه) ❁

Rabbi fa-ghfir lī dhunūbī (Yā Allāh),

94. My Lord, forgive me my sins, O Allah!
By the blessing of the guiding, interceding Prophet, O Allah!

يَا عَظِيمَ الْمَنِّ يَا رَبّْ (يَا اللَّه) ❁
شَمْلَنَا بِالْمُصْطَفَى اجْمَعْ (يَا اللَّه) ❁
شَمْلَنَا بِالْمُصْطَفَى اجْمَعْ (يَا اللَّه) ❁
Yā ʿAẓīma l-manni yā Rabb (Yā Allāh),
shamlanā bi-l-Muṣṭafā jmaʿ (Yā Allāh).

95. O Lord of immense grace, O Allah!
Unite us through the Chosen One, O Allah!

96. And by his rank, look upon us with mercy, O Allah!
And through him, grant us every hope and desire, O Allah!

Wa-kfinā kulla l-balāyā (Yā Allāh),

97. Protect us from every trial, O Allah!
And repel all calamities and lift them away, O Allah!

وَاسْقِنَا يَا رَبّْ أَغِثْنَا ❁
بِحَيًا هَطَّالْ يَهْمَعْ ❁
بِحَيًا هَطَّالْ يَهْمَعْ ❁
Wa-sqinā yā Rabb aghithnā,
bi-ḥayan haṭṭāl yahmaʿ.
bi-ḥayan haṭṭāl yahmaʿ.
99. Give us to drink, O Lord, send us relief,
with abundant, pouring, and continuous rain.

وَاخْتِمِ الْعُمْرَ بِحُسْنَى ❁
وَاحْسِنِ الْعُقْبَى وَمَرْجَعْ ❁

Wa-khtimi l-ʿumra bi-ḥusnā,
wa-ḥsini l-ʿuqbā wa-marjaʿ.

100. Seal our lives with goodness,
and make our final outcome and return blessed.

man lahu l-ḥusnu tajammaʿ.

101. May Allah’s prayers cover,
the one in whom all beauty is gathered.

أَحْمَدَ الطُّهْرَ وَآلِهْ ❁
وَالصَّحَابَةْ مَا السَّنَا شَعْ ❁
وَالصَّحَابَةْ مَا السَّنَا شَعْ ❁
Aḥmada ṭ-ṭuhra wa-ālih,
wa-ṣ-ṣaḥābah mā s-sanā shaʿ.
wa-ṣ-ṣaḥābah mā s-sanā shaʿ.
102. Upon Ahmad, the pure, and his Family,
and his Companions so long as the radiance shines forth.

The Early Life and Blessed Childhood of the Prophet ﷺ
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim wa-bārik ʿalayhi wa-ʿalā ālih.
104. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
وُلِدَ الْحَبِيبُ فَخَرَّ حَالًا سَاجِدًا ❁
لِلَّهِ مَنْ أَنْشَانَا وَبَرَانَا ❁
لِلَّهِ مَنْ أَنْشَانَا وَبَرَانَا ❁
Wulida l-ḥabību fa-kharra ḥālan sājidan,
li-Llāhi man anshānā wa-barānā.

105. The Beloved was born and at once fell in prostration,
to Allah, the One Who created us and brought us into being.

وَرِعَايَةُ الْمَوْلَى تُحِيطُ بِأَحْمَدٍ ❁
فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ بَاطِنًا وَعَيَانَا ❁
فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ بَاطِنًا وَعَيَانَا ❁
Wa-riʿāyatu l-Mawlā tuḥīṭu bi-Aḥmadin,
fī kulli ḥīnin bāṭinan wa-ʿayānā.
fī kulli ḥīnin bāṭinan wa-ʿayānā.
106. The Lord’s care encompassed Ahmad,
at every moment both unseen and seen.

قَدْ أَرْضَعَتْهُ الْأُمُّ ثُمَّ ثُوَيْبَةٌ ❁
وَحَلِيمَةٌ مَنْ سُعْدُهَا قَدْ بَانَا ❁
وَحَلِيمَةٌ مَنْ سُعْدُهَا قَدْ بَانَا ❁
Qad arḍaʿathu l-ummu thumma Thuwaybatun,
wa-Ḥalīmatun man suʿduhā qad bānā.
wa-Ḥalīmatun man suʿduhā qad bānā.
107. His mother nursed him first, then Thuwaybah,
and Halimah, whose blessed fortune shone clearly.

قَدْ بَشَّرَتْ ثُوَيْبَةٌ سَيِّدَهَا ❁
أَبَا لَهَبٍ أَعْتَقَهَا فَرْحَانَا ❁
أَبَا لَهَبٍ أَعْتَقَهَا فَرْحَانَا ❁
Qad bashsharat Thuwaybatun sayyidahā,
Abā Lahabin aʿtaqahā farḥānā.

108. Thuwaybah gave the good news to her master, Abu Lahab,
and he freed her out of happiness.

لَمْ يَنْسَ خَالِقُنَا لَهُ فَرْحَتَهُ ❁
بِالْمُصْطَفَى وَبِذَا الْحَدِيثُ أَتَانَا ❁
بِالْمُصْطَفَى وَبِذَا الْحَدِيثُ أَتَانَا ❁
Lam yansa Khāliqunā lahu farḥatahu,
bi-l-Muṣṭafā wa-bi-dhā l-ḥadīthu atānā.
bi-l-Muṣṭafā wa-bi-dhā l-ḥadīthu atānā.
109. Our Creator did not overlook his joy at the Chosen One,
and concerning this the report has reached us.

أَنَّ الْعَذَابَ مُخَفَّفٌ فِي كُلِّ اِثْـ
ـنَيْنٍ لِفَرْحَتِهِ بِمَنْ وَافَانَا ❁
ـنَيْنٍ لِفَرْحَتِهِ بِمَنْ وَافَانَا ❁
Anna l-ʿadhāba mukhaffafun fī kulli ith-
naynin li-farḥatihi bi-man wāfānā.

110. So his punishment is lightened every Monday,
for the joy he felt at the coming of the one who graced us.

هَذَا مَعَ الْكُفْرِ فَكَيْفَ بِفَرْحَةٍ ❁
مِنْ ذِي فُؤَادٍ إِمْتَلَا إِيمَانَا ❁
مِنْ ذِي فُؤَادٍ إِمْتَلَا إِيمَانَا ❁
Hādhā maʿa l-kufri fa-kayfa bi-farḥatin,
min dhī fu'ādin imtalā īmānā.

111. This was for one in disbelief, so what then of the joy,
of a heart overflowing with faith and devotion?

وَرَأَتْ حَلِيمَةٌ مَا رَأَتْ مِنْ بَرَكَا
تِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَا حَيَّرَ الْأَذْهَانَا ❁
تِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَا حَيَّرَ الْأَذْهَانَا ❁
Wa-ra'at Ḥalīmatun mā ra'at min barakā-
ti Muḥammadin mā ḥayyara l-adhhānā.

112. And Halimah beheld such blessings through Muhammad,
wonders that left every mind astonished.

دَرَّ لَهُ الثَّدْيُ وَقَدْ كَانَ ابْنُهَا ❁
يَبِيتُ يَبْكِي مُسْغَبًا جَيْعَانَا ❁
يَبِيتُ يَبْكِي مُسْغَبًا جَيْعَانَا ❁
Darra lahu th-thadyu wa-qad kāna bnuhā,
yabītu yabkī musghaban jayʿānā.

113. Her breast overflowed with milk, though her own child
had long spent his nights weeping in hunger and need.

لَكِنَّهُ لَيْلَةَ أَنْ جَاءَ الْحَبِيـ
ـبُ بَاتَ مَوْفُورَ الرِّضَا شَبْعَانَا ❁
ـبُ بَاتَ مَوْفُورَ الرِّضَا شَبْعَانَا ❁
Lākinnahu laylata an jā'a l-ḥabī-
bu bāta mawfūra r-riḍā shabʿānā.

114. But on the night the Beloved came to her home,
he slept content, his hunger gone, his heart at peace.

وَدَرَّتِ النَّاقَةُ أَلْبَانًا وَقَدْ ❁
سَمُنَتْ دُوَيْبَتُهَا فَكَانَ شَانَا ❁
سَمُنَتْ دُوَيْبَتُهَا فَكَانَ شَانَا ❁
Wa-darrati n-nāqatu albānan wa-qad,
samunat duwaybatuhā fa-kāna shānā.

115. The she-camel gave milk in abundance,
and her beloved mount grew plump, a change

أَنْكَرَهُ رِفْقَتُهَا وَسَلَّمَتْ ❁
أَشْجَارٌ أَحْجَارٌ عَلَى مَوْلَانَا ❁

Ankarahu rifqatuhā wa-sallamat,
ashjārun aḥjārun ʿalā mawlānā.

116. that her companions found extraordinary,
and trees and stones greeted our master with peace.

سُبْحَانَ مَنْ أَنْطَقَ أَشْجَارًا وَأَحْـ
ـجَارًا تُحَيِّي الْمُصْطَفَى سُبْحَانَا ❁
ـجَارًا تُحَيِّي الْمُصْطَفَى سُبْحَانَا ❁
Subḥāna man anṭaqa ashjāran wa-aḥ-
jāran tuḥayyi l-Muṣṭafā subḥānā.

117. Glory be to Him Who made trees and stones speak,
sending salutations to the Chosen One, glory be to Him!

يَا رَبَّنَا صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا ❁
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ مَنْ إِلَيْكَ دَعَانَا ❁
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ مَنْ إِلَيْكَ دَعَانَا ❁
Yā Rabbanā ṣalli wa-sallim dā'iman,
ʿalā ḥabībika man ilayka daʿānā.

118. O our Lord, send constant prayers and peace,
upon Your Beloved, the one who called us unto You.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁

119. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
Chapter 6
The Noble Character and Youth of the Prophet ﷺ
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim wa-bārik ʿalayhi wa-ʿalā ālih.
120. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon him and upon his Family, and bless them.
هَذَا وَقَدْ نَشَأَ الْحَبِيبُ بِسِيرَةٍ ❁
مَرْضِيَّةٍ وَمَا أَتَى عِصْيَانَا ❁
مَرْضِيَّةٍ وَمَا أَتَى عِصْيَانَا ❁
Hādhā wa-qad nasha'a l-ḥabību bi-sīratin,
marḍiyyatin wa-mā atā ʿiṣyānā.

121. Thus the Beloved grew, his life adorned with virtue and grace,
never once did he commit a sin or disobedience.

تَرْعَاهُ عَيْنُ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَدَّبَهُ ❁
أَحْسَنَ تَأْدِيبَ النَّبِيِّ إِحْسَانَا ❁

Tarʿāhu ʿaynu Llāhi man addabahu,
aḥsana ta'dība n-nabiyyi iḥsānā.

122. He was guarded by the eye of Allah, Who Himself refined his character,
granting the Prophet the finest of refinement.

فَنَشَا صَدُوقًا مُحْسِنًا ذَا عِفَّةٍ ❁
وَفُتُوَّةٍ وَأَمَانَةٍ مِعْوَانَا ❁

Fa-nashā ṣadūqan muḥsinan dhā ʿiffatin,
wa-futuwwatin wa-amānatin miʿwānā.

123. He grew up truthful and kind, chaste,
noble-hearted, trustworthy and ever ready to help.

ذَا هِمَّةٍ وَشَجَاعَةٍ وَتَوَقُّرٍ ❁
وَمَكَارِمٍ لَا تَحْتَصِي حُسْبَانَا ❁

Dhā himmatin wa-shajāʿatin wa-tawaqqurin,
wa-makārimin lā taḥtaṣī ḥusbānā.

124. Endowed with courage, dignity, and noble resolve,
his noble qualities were beyond measure or reckoning.

دُعِيَ الْأَمِينُ وَهُوَ فِي أَهْلِ السَّمَا ❁
نِعْمَ الْأَمِينُ لَهُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ صَانَا ❁

Duʿiya l-Amīnu wa-huwa fī ahli s-samā,
niʿma l-Amīnu lahu l-Muhayminu ṣānā.

125. He was called the Trustworthy. Among the dwellers of heaven,
how excellent a trustee he is, protected by the All-Protecting!

ذَهَبَتْ بِهِ الْأُمُّ تَزُورُ أَبَاهُ فِي ❁
طَيْبَةَ إِذْ فِيهَا الْحِمَامُ كَانَا ❁

Dhahabat bihi l-ummu tazūru abāhu fī,

126. His mother took him to visit his father’s resting place in Taybah,
where his father had passed away

وَالْمُصْطَفَى فِي بَطْنِهَا وَقَدْ أَتَى ❁
عَلَيْهِ سِتٌّ مِنْ سِنِيهِ الْآنَا ❁

Wa-l-Muṣṭafā fī baṭnihā wa-qad atā,
ʿalayhi sittun min sinīhi l-ānā.

127. while the Chosen One was still within her womb.

وَقَدْ أَتَاهَا الْمَوْتُ حِينَ رُجُوعِهَا ❁
فَحَبَاهُ عَبْدُ الْمُطَّلِبِ حَنَانَا ❁

Wa-qad atāha l-mawtu ḥīna rujūʿihā,
fa-ḥabāhu ʿAbdu l-Muṭṭalibi ḥanānā.

128. And death came to her on her journey home,
then Abd al-Muttalib embraced him with boundless tenderness and love.

سَنَتَيْنِ وَافَاهُ الْحِمَامُ فَضَمَّهُ ❁
عَمٌّ مَلَا الْعَطْفُ عَلَيْهِ جَنَانَا ❁

Sanatayni wāfāhu l-ḥimāmu fa-ḍammahu,
ʿammun malā l-ʿaṭfu ʿalayhi janānā.

129. Two years later, death visited once more,
and his uncle took him in, wrapping him in affection that overflowed from a heart full of love.

خَطَبَتْهُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدٍ فِي الْخَمْسِ وَالْـ
ـعِشْرِينَ حَازَتْ بِالْمُشَفَّعِ شَانَا ❁

Khaṭabathu bintu Khuwaylidin fī l-khamsi wa-l-
ʿishrīna ḥāzat bi-l-mushaffaʿi shānā.

130. When he reached the age of five and twenty, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid sought his hand,
and through the Intercessor, she attained a lofty distinction.

قَدْ حَقَّقَ الْمَوْلَى لَهَا آمَالَهَا ❁
نَالَتْ سَلَامًا عَالِيًا وَمَكَانَا ❁

Qad ḥaqqaqa l-Mawlā lahā āmālahā,
nālat salāman ʿāliyan wa-makānā.

131. The Lord fulfilled her heart’s deepest hopes,
she received an exalted greeting of peace and a lofty station.

وَحَلَّ مُشْكِلَةً لِوَضْعِ الْحَجَرِ الْأَ
سْوَدِ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ حَيْثُ أَبَانَا ❁

Wa-ḥalla mushkilatan li-waḍʿi l-ḥajari l-
aswadi fī l-kaʿbati ḥaythu abānā.

132. He resolved the dispute over placing the
Black Stone in the Kabah, clearly demonstrating

عَنْ سِعَةِ الْعَقْلِ وَوَقَّادِ الْحِجَا ❁
سُبْحَانَ مَنْ عَلَّمَهُ وَأَعَانَا ❁

ʿAn siʿati l-ʿaqli wa-waqqādi l-ḥijā,

عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ مَنْ إِلَيْكَ دَعَانَا ❁

Yā Rabbanā ṣalli wa-sallim dā'iman,
ʿalā ḥabībika man ilayka daʿānā.

134. O our Lord, send constant prayers and peace,
upon Your Beloved, the one who called us unto You.

Chapter 7
The Beginning of Revelation and the Prophetic Mission
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ ❁

وَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ بِوَحْيِ اللَّهِ فِي ❁
غَارِ حِرَاءٍ يَعْبُدُ الرَّحْمٰنَ ❁
غَارِ حِرَاءٍ يَعْبُدُ الرَّحْمٰنَ ❁
Wa-atāhu Jibrīlu bi-waḥyi Llāhi fī,
ghāri Ḥirā'in yaʿbudu r-Raḥmānā.

137. Then Jibril came to him bearing Allah’s revelation,
in the Cave of Hira, where he worshipped the Most Compassionate in solitude.

وَضَمَّهُ الثَّلَاثَ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَهُ ❁
اِقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَا ❁

Wa-ḍammahu th-thalātha thumma arsalahu,
iqra' wa-Rabbuka ʿallama l-insānā.

138. He embraced him three times, then released him, saying:
“Recite, and your Lord is the One Who taught mankind.”

فَدَعَا ثَلَاثًا فِي خَفَا فَأَتَاهُ أَنْ ❁
إِصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرْ بِهِ إِعْلَانَا ❁
إِصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرْ بِهِ إِعْلَانَا ❁
Fa-daʿā thalāthan fī khafā fa-atāhu an,
iṣdaʿ bimā tu'mar bihi iʿlānā.

139. He called in secret for three years, until the command came:
“Proclaim openly that which you are commanded to declare.”

كَثُرَ الْأَذَى وَهُوَ الصَّبُورُ لِرَبِّهِ ❁
وَهُوَ الشَّكُورُ وَكَانَ لَا يَتَوَانَى ❁
وَهُوَ الشَّكُورُ وَكَانَ لَا يَتَوَانَى ❁
Kathura l-adhā wa-huwa ṣ-ṣabūru li-Rabbihi,
wa-huwa sh-shakūru wa-kāna lā yatawānā.

140. The harm increased, yet he remained patient for his Lord,
ever grateful, never weary, never turning away.

مَاتَتْ خَدِيجَةُ وَأَبُو طَالِبٍ فِي الْـ
ـخَمْسِينَ فَاشْتَدَّ الْأَذَاءُ فُنُونَا ❁

Mātat Khadījatu wa-Abū Ṭālibin fī l-
khamsīna fashtadda l-adhā'u funūnā.

141. Khadijah and Abu Talib passed away in his
fiftieth year and the trials multiplied, taking on countless forms.

وَأَتَى ثَقِيفًا دَاعِيًا فَرَمَوْهُ بِالْأَ
حْجَارِ بَلْ أَغْرَوْا بِهِ الصِّبْيَانَا ❁

Wa-atā Thaqīfan dāʿiyan fa-ramawhu bi-l-
aḥjāri bal aghraw bihi ṣ-ṣibyānā.

142. He went to the tribe of Thaqif, calling them to faith,
but they pelted him with stones and set the children upon him.

مَلَكُ الْجِبَالِ أَتَى فَقَالَ اطْبِقُهَا ❁
فَقَالَ لَا بَلْ أَرْتَجِي الْعُقْبَانَا ❁

Malaku l-jibāli atā fa-qāla ṭbiquhā,
fa-qāla lā bal artaji l-ʿuqbānā.

143. The angel of the mountains came and said, “Shall I crush them between these peaks?”
but he replied, “No, instead, I hope their descendants will believe.”

أَسْرَى بِهِ الْمَوْلَى وَصَلَّى خَلْفَهُ الرُّ
سْلُ وَشَاهَدَ بَرْزَخًا وَجِنَانَا ❁

Asrā bihi l-Mawlā wa-ṣallā khalfahu r-
ruslu wa-shāhada barzakhan wa-jinānā.

144. The Lord carried him on the Night Journey, and the Messengers prayed behind him,
while he beheld the realms beyond and the gardens of Paradise.

عَرَجَ الْحَبِيبُ إِلَى السَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلَىٰ ❁
وَالْعَرْشِ وَالْكُرْسِيّ رَأَى مَوْلَانَا ❁
وَالْعَرْشِ وَالْكُرْسِيّ رَأَى مَوْلَانَا ❁
ʿAraja l-ḥabību ilā s-samāwāti l-ʿulā,
wa-l-ʿarshi wa-l-kursiyy ra'ā Mawlānā.

145. The Beloved ascended to the highest heavens,
to the Throne and the Footstool, and he beheld our Lord.

وَالْإِذْنُ بِالْهِجْرَةِ جَاءَ لِيَثْرِبٍ ❁
فَبِهِ ازْدَهَى الْبَلَدُ الْكَرِيمُ وَزَانَا ❁
فَبِهِ ازْدَهَى الْبَلَدُ الْكَرِيمُ وَزَانَا ❁
Wa-l-idhnu bi-l-hijrati jā'a li-Yathribin,
fa-bihi zdahā l-baladu l-karīmu wa-zānā.

146. Then came the command for migration to Yathrib,
and by his coming, the noble city was adorned and filled with glory.

فَأَقَامَ عَشْرًا دَاعِيًا وَمُجَاهِدًا ❁
وَصِحَابُهُ كَانُوا لَهُ أَعْوَانَا ❁

Fa-aqāma ʿashran dāʿiyan wa-mujāhidan,
wa-ṣiḥābuhu kānū lahu aʿwānā.

147. He dwelt there ten years calling and striving in Allah’s cause,
and his Companions stood beside him as loyal helpers.

لَا يَرْفَعُونَ إِذَا أَتَى أَصْوَاتَهُمْ ❁
بَلْ لَا يُحِدُّونَ الْبَصَرْ إِمْعَانَا ❁
بَلْ لَا يُحِدُّونَ الْبَصَرْ إِمْعَانَا ❁
Lā yarfaʿūna idhā atā aṣwātahum,
bal lā yuḥiddūna l-baṣar imʿānā.

148. When he approached, they never raised their voices,
nor did they stare intently at him.

قَدْرًا وَتَعْظِيمًا لِشَأْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ❁
إِذْ قَدْ تَلَوْا فِي فَضْلِهِ قُرْآنَا ❁
إِذْ قَدْ تَلَوْا فِي فَضْلِهِ قُرْآنَا ❁
Qadran wa-taʿẓīman li-sha'ni Muḥammadin,
idh qad talaw fī faḍlihi Qur'ānā.

149. Out of honour and deep veneration for Muhammad,
for they had recited in his praise verses of the Qur’an.

وَلَقَدْ رَأَوْا مِنْ خُلْقِهِ عَجَبًا وَكَمْ ❁
قَدْ شَاهَدُوا مَا حَيَّرَ الْأَذْهَانَا ❁
قَدْ شَاهَدُوا مَا حَيَّرَ الْأَذْهَانَا ❁
Wa-laqad ra'aw min khulqihi ʿajaban wa-kam,
qad shāhadū mā ḥayyara l-adhhānā.

150. Indeed, they saw marvels in his noble character,
and how often they witnessed what left every intellect astonished.

كَرَمًا وَعَفْوًا وَالسَّخَا وَتَوَاضُعًا ❁
وَالْجِذْعُ حَنَّ مَحَبَّةً وَحَنَانَا ❁
وَالْجِذْعُ حَنَّ مَحَبَّةً وَحَنَانَا ❁
Karaman wa-ʿafwan wa-s-sakhā wa-tawāḍuʿan,
wa-l-jidhʿu ḥanna maḥabbatan wa-ḥanānā.

151. In him they found generosity, forgiveness, bounty, and humility,
even the palm trunk longed for him, weeping in love and yearning.

وَالْمَاءُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأَصَابِعِ نَابِعًا ❁
وَالْجَيْشُ أَضْحَى شَارِبًا رَيَّانَا ❁

Wa-l-mā'u min bayni l-aṣābiʿi nābiʿan,
wa-l-jayshu aḍḥā shāriban rayyānā.

152. And water gushed forth from between his blessed fingers,
till the army drank their fill, refreshed and satisfied.

وَاللَّهِ قَدْ عَظُمَتْ مَعَاجِزُ أَحْمَدٍ ❁
رَفَعَ الْمُهَيْمِنُ لِلنَّبِيِّ مَكَانَا ❁

Wa-Llāhi qad ʿaẓumat maʿājizu Aḥmadin,
rafaʿa l-Muhayminu li-n-nabiyyi makānā.

153. By Allah, the miracles of Ahmad are truly great,
the Almighty raised the Prophet to an exalted station.

وَلَقَدْ غَزَا سَبْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ مَعَ الصَّـ
ـحْبِ رِجَالًا قَدْ مَشَوْا رُكْبَانَا ❁

Wa-laqad ghazā sabʿan wa-ʿishrīna maʿa ṣ-ṣaḥ-
bi-rijālan qad mashaw rukbānā.

154. Indeed, he took part in twenty-seven campaigns,
his Companions marching beside him, some on foot, some mounted.

أَكْرِمْ بِهِ وَبِصَحْبِهِ وَبِتَابِعٍ ❁
يَا رَبِّ أَلْحِقْنَا بِهِمْ إِحْسَانَا ❁

Akrim bihi wa-bi-ṣaḥbihi wa-bi-tābiʿin,
yā Rabbi alḥiqnā bihim iḥsānā.

155. How noble he is and how noble his Companions and those who followed them!
O Lord, join us with them in goodness and grace.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْأَوَّلِينَ ❁
وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ ❁
وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي النَّبِيِّينَ ❁
وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْمُرْسَلِينَ ❁
وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَى إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ❁
وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ ❁
وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ ❁

وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَى إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ❁
وَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli wa-sallim ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin fī l-awwalīna,
wa-ṣalli wa-sallim ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin fī l-ākhirīna,
wa-ṣalli wa-sallim ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin fī n-nabiyyīna,
wa-ṣalli wa-sallim ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin fī l-mursalīna,
wa-ṣalli wa-sallim ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin fī l-malā'i l-aʿlā ilā yawmi d-dīni,
wa-ṣalli wa-sallim ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin wa-ʿalā ālihi wa-ṣaḥbihi ajmaʿīn.

158. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad among the first ones,

and send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad among the Messengers,
and send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad in the Highest Assembly, until the Day of Judgement,

وَلَقَدْ أَشَرْتُ لِنَعْتِ مَنْ أَوْصَافُهُ ❁
تُحْيِي الْقُلُوبَ تُهَيِّجُ الْأَشْجَانَا ❁
تُحْيِي الْقُلُوبَ تُهَيِّجُ الْأَشْجَانَا ❁
Wa-laqad ashartu li-naʿti man awṣāfuhu,
tuḥyi l-qulūba tuhayyiju l-ashjānā.

159. Indeed, I have alluded to the description of the one whose qualities
revive the hearts and stir the deepest longings within.

وَاللَّهُ قَدْ أَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ فَمَا يُسَا
وِي الْقَوْلُ مِنَّا أَوْ يَكُونُ ثَنَانَا ❁

Wa-Llāhu qad athnā ʿalayhi fa-mā yusā-
wi l-qawlu minnā aw yakūnu thanānā.

160. And Allah Himself has praised him, so how could our words
ever equal or approach such praise?

لَكِنَّ حُبًّا فِي السَّرَائِرِ قَدْ دَعَا ❁
لِمَدِيحِ صَفْوَةِ رَبِّنَا وَحَدَانَا ❁

Lākinna ḥubban fī s-sarā'iri qad daʿā,
li-madīḥi ṣafwati Rabbinā wa-ḥadānā.

161. But love within our hearts has called us
to praise the Elect of our Lord, and urged us onward.

وَإِذِ امْتَزَجْنَا بِالْمَوَدَّةِ هَـٰهُنَا ❁
نَرْفَعُ أَيْدِي فَقْرِنَا وَرَجَانَا ❁

Wa-idhi mtazajnā bi-l-mawaddati hāhunā,
narfaʿu aydī faqrinā wa-rajānā.

162. And now that we are bound together in love, here in this gathering,
we lift our hands in humble need and hopeful prayer.

لِلْوَاحِدِ الْأَحَدِ الْعَلِيِّ إِلَـٰهِنَا ❁
مُتَوَسِّلِينَ بِمَنْ إِلَيْهِ دَعَانَا ❁

Li-l-Wāḥidi l-Aḥadi l-ʿAliyyi Ilāhinā,
mutawassilīna bi-man ilayhi daʿānā.

163. To the One, the Only, the Most High, our Lord and God,
we turn in supplication, seeking a means through the one who called us to Him.

مُخْتَارِهِ وَحَبِيبِهِ وَصَفِيِّهِ ❁
زَيْنِ الْوُجُودِ بِهِ الْإِلَـٰهُ حَبَانَا ❁

Mukhtārihi wa-ḥabībihi wa-ṣafiyyihi,
zayni l-wujūdi bihi l-Ilāhu ḥabānā.

164. His Chosen One, His Beloved, His Elect,
the adornment of all existence, through whom Allah has blessed us.

بِالْمُصْطَفَى اقْبَلْنَا أَجِبْ دَعْوَانَا ❁

bi-l-Muṣṭafā qbalnā ajib daʿwānā.

165. O our Lord, O our Lord, O our Lord,
by the Chosen One, accept us and answer our prayer.

أَنْتَ لَنَا أَنْتَ لَنَا يَا ذُخْرَنَا ❁
فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي أُخْرَانَا ❁

Anta lanā anta lanā yā dhukhranā,
fī hādhihi d-dunyā wa-fī ukhrānā.

166. You are ours, You are ours, our treasure and refuge,
in this world and in the Hereafter.

أَصْلِحْ لَنَا الْأَحْوَالَ وَاغْفِرْ ذَنْبَنَا ❁
وَلَا تُؤَاخِذْ رَبِّي إِنْ أَخْطَانَا ❁

Aṣliḥ lana l-aḥwāla wa-ghfir dhanbanā,
wa-lā tu'ākhidh Rabbī in akhṭānā.

167. Set right our affairs and forgive our sins, O Lord,
and do not hold us to account, my Lord, if we have erred.

وَاسْلُكْ بِنَا فِي نَهْجِ طَهَ الْمُصْطَفَى ❁
ثَبِّتْ عَلَى قَدَمِ الْحَبِيبِ خُطَانَا ❁

Wa-sluk binā fī nahji Ṭāha l-Muṣṭafā,
thabbit ʿalā qadami l-ḥabībi khuṭānā.

168. Guide us upon the path of Taha, the Chosen One,
and keep our steps firm upon the way of the Beloved.

أَرِنَا بِفَضْلٍ مِنْكَ طَلْعَةَ أَحْمَدٍ ❁
فِي بَهْجَةٍ عَيْنُ الرِّضَا تَرْعَانَا ❁
فِي بَهْجَةٍ عَيْنُ الرِّضَا تَرْعَانَا ❁
Arinā bi-faḍlin minka ṭalʿata Aḥmadin,
fī bahjatin ʿaynu r-riḍā tarʿānā.

169. By Your grace, let us behold the radiant face of Ahmad,
in splendour, while the eye of favour watches over us.

وَارْبُطْ بِهِ فِي كُلِّ حَالٍ حَبْلَنَا ❁
وَحِبَالَ مَنْ وَدَّ وَمَنْ وَالَانَا ❁

Wa-rbuṭ bihi fī kulli ḥālin ḥablanā,
wa-ḥibāla man wadda wa-man wālānā.

170. Keep us bound to him in every state,
and likewise those who love and befriend us.

وَالْمُحْسِنِينَ وَمَنْ أَجَابَ نِدَاءَنَا ❁
وَذَوِي الْحُقُوقِ وَطَالِبًا أَوْصَانَا ❁
وَذَوِي الْحُقُوقِ وَطَالِبًا أَوْصَانَا ❁
Wa-l-muḥsinīna wa-man ajāba nidā'anā,
wa-dhawi l-ḥuqūqi wa-ṭāliban awṣānā.
wa-dhawi l-ḥuqūqi wa-ṭāliban awṣānā.
171. And those who do good, who have answered our call,
and all with claims upon us, and those who have asked us to pray for them.

وَالْحَاضِرِينَ وَسَاعِيًا فِي جَمْعِنَا ❁
هَا نَحْنُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ أَنْتَ تَرَانَا ❁
هَا نَحْنُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ أَنْتَ تَرَانَا ❁
Wa-l-ḥāḍirīna wa-sāʿiyan fī jamʿinā,
hā naḥnu bayna yadayka anta tarānā.

172. And those present here, and all who helped bring us together,
here we stand before You, O Lord, and You behold us.

وَلَقَدْ رَجَوْنَاكَ فَحَقِّقْ سُؤْلَنَا ❁
وَاسْمَعْ بِفَضْلِكَ يَا سَمِيعُ دُعَانَا ❁

Wa-laqad rajawnāka fa-ḥaqqiq su'lanā,
wa-smaʿ bi-faḍlika yā Samīʿu duʿānā.

173. We have placed our hope in You, so grant our wish, O Lord,
and by Your grace, O All-Hearing One, receive our prayer.

وَانْصُرْ بِنَا سُنَّةَ طَهَ فِي بِقَا
عِ الْأَرْضِ وَاقْمَعْ كُلَّ مَنْ عَادَانَا ❁
عِ الْأَرْضِ وَاقْمَعْ كُلَّ مَنْ عَادَانَا ❁
Wa-nṣur binā sunnata Ṭāhā fī biqā-
ʿi-l-arḍi wa-qmaʿ kulla man ʿādānā.

174. Through us, make the sunnah of Taha triumphant across
the lands and subdue all who stand as enemies against us.

وَانْظُرْ إِلَيْنَا وَاسْقِنَا كَأْسَ الْهَنَا ❁
وَاشْفِ وَعَافِ عَاجِلًا مَرْضَانَا ❁

Wa-nẓur ilaynā wa-sqinā ka'sa l-hanā,
wa-shfi wa-ʿāfi ʿājilan marḍānā.

175. Look upon us with mercy, and let us drink from the cup of bliss.
Heal us swiftly and grant well-being to all our sick.

وَاقْضِ لَنَا الْحَاجَاتِ وَاحْسِنْ خَتْمَنَا ❁
عِنْدَ الْمَمَاتِ وَأَصْلِحَنْ عُقْبَانَا ❁

Wa-qḍi lana l-ḥājāti wa-ḥsin khatmanā,
ʿinda l-mamāti wa-aṣliḥan ʿuqbānā.

176. Fulfil our needs and grant us a beautiful ending at death,
and set right our final outcome.

فِي دَارِكَ الْفِرْدَوْسِ يَا رَجْوَانَا ❁

Yā Rabbi wa-jmaʿnā wa-aḥbāban lanā,
fī dārika l-firdawsi yā rajwānā.

177. O Lord, gather us together with those we love,
in Your abode of Paradise, O You Who are our greatest hope.

بِالْمُصْطَفَى صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ ❁
مَا حَرَّكَتْ رِيحُ الصَّبَا أَغْصَانَا ❁

Bi-l-Muṣṭafā ṣalli ʿalayhi wa-ālihi,
mā ḥarrakat rīḥu ṣ-ṣabā aghṣānā.

178. By the Chosen One, send prayers upon him and his Family,
as long as the gentle breeze stirs the branches.

﴿سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ❁ وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ❁ وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ❁﴾
﴾Subḥāna Rabbika Rabbi l-ʿizzati ʿammā yaṣifūna, wa-salāmun ʿalā l-mursalīna, wa-l-ḥamdu li-Llāhi Rabbi l-ʿālamīn﴿.
179. “Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above what they ascribe to Him. And peace be upon the Messengers. And all praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (37:180–182)
﴿إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسْلِيمًا ❁﴾
﴾Inna Llāha wa-malā'ikatahu yuṣallūna ʿalā n-nabiyyi, yā ayyuha lladhīna āmanū ṣallū ʿalayhi wa-sallimū taslīmā﴿.
180. “Indeed, Allah and His Angels send prayers upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send prayers upon him and greet him with peace.” (33:56)
الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَيِّدَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ ❁ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَاتِمَ النَّبِيِّينَ ❁ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَنْ أَرْسَلَكَ اللَّهُ رَحْمَةً لِلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ❁ وَرَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أَجْمَعِينَ ❁ آمِين ❁
Aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalayka yā sayyida l-mursalīna, aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalayka yā khātima n-nabiyyīna, aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalayka yā man arsalaka Llāhu raḥmatan li-l-ʿālamīna, wa-raḍiya Llāhu taʿālā ʿan aṣḥābi rasūli Llāhi ajmaʿīn. Āmīn.
181. Prayers and peace be upon you, O Master of the Messengers, prayers and peace be upon you, O Seal of the Prophets, prayers and peace be upon you, O the one whom Allah sent as a mercy to all the worlds, and may Allah, the Exalted, be pleased with all the Companions of the Messenger of Allah. Amin.
