Surah al-Buruj
Page 1 (Quran Page 590)
Translation
By the sky, with the constellations, [85:1]
and the promised day, [85:2]
and witness and witnessed, [85:3]
perish the keepers of the trench [85:4]
of fire with fuel: [85:5]
they sat by [85:6]
witness to what they were doing to the believers, [85:7]
whom they resented only because they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, [85:8]
to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And God is witness to every thing. [85:9]
As for those who tortured the believing men and believing women and never repented, there is the torment of hell for them, for them the torment of burning. [85:10]
As for those who believe and do the right things, there are gardens for them with streams flowing below; that is the great attainment. [85:11]
The power of your Lord is truly tremendous; [85:12]
for that is who begins and renews, [85:13]
and is most forgiving and loving, [85:14]
Lord of the glorious Throne, [85:15]
independently acting at will. [85:16]
Has the story reached you of the troops [85:17]
of Pharaoh and Thamud? [85:18]
Those who scoff are still in denial, [85:19]
though God surrounds them from beyond. [85:20]
But this is a glorious Recital [85:21]
on a preserved tablet. [85:22]
