Durood-e-Hazari (Urdu: درود ہزاری), also known as Durood-e-Qabrastan (Urdu: درود قبرستان), is a prayer upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that invokes blessings upon him in relation to his soul, form, name, heart, body, blessed grave, and other noble attributes. It is traditionally recited when visiting graveyards, with the reward gifted to the deceased.
Read lessاللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ مَّا دَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ❁
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin mā dāmati ṣ-ṣalātu,
1. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad for as long as prayer endures.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ مَّا دَامَتِ الرَّحْمَةُ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin mā dāmati r-raḥmatu,
2. Send prayers upon Muhammad for as long as mercy endures.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ مَّا دَامَتِ الْبَرَكَاتُ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin mā dāmati l-barakātu,
3. Send prayers upon Muhammad for as long as blessings endure.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى رُوحِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْأَرْوَاحِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā rūḥi Muḥammadin fī l-arwāḥi,
4. Send prayers upon the spirit of Muhammad among all spirits.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى صُورَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الصُّوَرِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā ṣūrati Muḥammadin fī ṣ-ṣuwari,
5. Send prayers upon the form of Muhammad among all forms.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى اسْمِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي السَّمَاءِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā smi Muḥammadin fī s-samā'i,
6. Send prayers upon the name of Muhammad in heaven.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى نَفْسِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي النُّفُوسِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā nafsi Muḥammadin fī n-nufūsi,
7. Send prayers upon the soul of Muhammad among all souls.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى قَلْبِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْقُلُوبِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā qalbi Muḥammadin fī l-qulūbi,
8. Send prayers upon the heart of Muhammad among all hearts.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى قَبْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْقُبُورِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā qabri Muḥammadin fī l-qubūri,
9. Send prayers upon the grave of Muhammad among all graves.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى رَوْضَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الرِّيَاضِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā rawḍati Muḥammadin fī r-riyāḍi,
10. Send prayers upon the garden of Muhammad among all gardens.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى جَسَدِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْأَجْسَادِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā jasadi Muḥammadin fī l-ajsādi,
11. Send prayers upon the body of Muhammad among all bodies.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى تُرْبَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي التُّرَابِ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā turbati Muḥammadin fī t-turābi,
12. Send prayers upon the grave soil of Muhammad in the earth.
وَصَلِّ عَلَى خَيْرِ خَلْقِكَ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ وَأَحْبَابِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ ❁
wa-ṣalli ʿalā khayri khalqika sayyidinā Muḥammadin wa-ʿalā ālihi wa-aṣḥābihi wa-azwājihi wa-dhurriyyātihi wa-ahli baytihi wa-aḥbābihi ajmaʿīna, bi-raḥmatika yā Arḥama r-rāḥimīn.
13. Send prayers upon the best of Your creation, our master Muhammad, and upon his Family, his Companions, his wives, and his descendants, and upon his household and his beloved ones, all together, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
