Dua for Wind
Dua 1: Seeking Good and Protection When the Wind Blows
A’ishah J reported that when the wind blew violently, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite the following supplication.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ ❁ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ ❁
Allāhumma innī as'aluka khayrahā wa-khayra mā fīhā wa-khayra mā ursilat bihi, wa-aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā wa-sharri mā fīhā wa-sharri mā ursilat bih.
O Allah, I ask You for its good, the good within it, and the good with which it was sent. I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil with which it was sent.

Dua 2: Asking for the Good of the Wind
Ubayy ibn Ka’b I reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said not to curse the wind. If one sees something in it that one dislikes, he instructed that the following supplication be recited.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ ❁ وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا ❁ وَخَيْرِ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ ❁ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ ❁ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا ❁ وَشَرِّ مَا أُمِرَتْ بِهِ ❁
Allāhumma innā nas'aluka min khayri hādhihi r-rīḥi, wa-khayri mā fīhā, wa-khayri mā umirat bihi, wa-naʿūdhu bika min sharri hādhihi r-rīḥi, wa-sharri mā fīhā, wa-sharri mā umirat bih.
O Allah, we ask You for the good of this wind, the good within it, and the good it has been commanded to bring. We seek refuge in You from the evil of this wind, the evil within it, and the evil it has been commanded to bring.

Dua 3: Asking for a Rain-Bearing Wind
Salamah ibn al-Akwa’ I reported that when the wind became severe, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite the following supplication.
اللَّهُمَّ لَقْحًا لَا عَقِيمًا ❁
Allāhumma laqḥan lā ʿaqīmā.
O Allah, make it a rain-bearing wind and not a barren one.

Dua 4: Asking Allah to Make the Wind a Mercy
Ibn Abbas I reported that whenever the wind blew strongly, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would kneel down and recite the following supplication.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا رَحْمَةً وَلَا تَجْعَلْهَا عَذَابًا ❁ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا رِيَاحًا وَلَا تَجْعَلْهَا رِيحًا ❁
Allāhumma jʿalhā raḥmatan wa-lā tajʿalhā ʿadhābā. Allāhumma jʿalhā riyāḥan wa-lā tajʿalhā rīḥā.
O Allah, make it a mercy and do not make it a punishment. O Allah, make it winds of mercy and not a wind of punishment.
