Dua for Safe Pregnancy and Delivery
Dua 1: Reciting Ayat al-Kursi During Childbirth
Fatimah J related that when the time of her delivery approached, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed Umm Salamah J and Zaynab bint Jahsh J to recite Ayat al-Kursi for her.
﴿ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَّهُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ❁﴾
﴾Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa l-Ḥayyu l-Qayyūmu, lā ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa-lā nawmun, lahu mā fī s-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-arḍi, man dhā lladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi-idhnihi, yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa-mā khalfahum, wa-lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shay'in min ʿilmihi illā bimā shā'a, wasiʿa kursiyyuhu s-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa, wa-lā ya'ūduhu ḥifẓuhumā, wa-huwa l-ʿAliyyu l-ʿAẓīm﴿.
“Allah, there is no god but Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. Everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to Him. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what lies before them and what lies behind them. They grasp nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi encompasses the heavens and the earth, and preserving them does not weary Him. He is the Most High, the Magnificent.” (2:255)

Dua 2: Reciting a Verse from Surah al-A'raf During Childbirth
Fatimah J related that when the time of her delivery approached, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed Umm Salamah J and Zaynab bint Jahsh J to recite the following verse for her.
﴿إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُ حَثِيثًا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍ بِأَمْرِهِ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ❁﴾
﴾Inna Rabbakumu Llāhu lladhī khalaqa s-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa fī sittati ayyāmin thumma stawā ʿalā l-ʿarshi, yughshī l-layla n-nahāra yaṭlubuhu ḥathīthan, wa-sh-shamsa wa-l-qamara wa-n-nujūma musakhkharātin bi-amrihi, alā lahu l-khalqu wa-l-amru, tabāraka Llāhu Rabbu l-ʿālamīn﴿.
"Indeed, your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself upon the Throne. He covers the day with the night, which pursues it swiftly. He created the sun, the moon and the stars, all subject to His command. Surely, creation and command belong to Him. Blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds." (7:54)

Dua 3: Reciting al-Mu'awwidhatayn During Childbirth
Fatimah J related that when the time of her delivery approached, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed Umm Salamah J and Zaynab bint Jahsh J to seek Allah’s protection for her by reciting al-Mu’awwidhatayn.
﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ❁ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ❁ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ❁ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ❁ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ❁﴾
﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ❁ ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ❁﴾
﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ❁ ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ❁ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ❁﴾
﴾Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi l-falaqi, min sharri mā khalaqa, wa-min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqaba, wa-min sharri n-naffāthāti fī l-ʿuqadi, wa-min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad﴿.
﴾Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi n-nāsi, Maliki n-nāsi, Ilāhi n-nāsi, min sharri l-waswāsi l-khannāsi, lladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri n-nāsi, mina l-jinnati wa-n-nās﴿.
﴾Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi n-nāsi, Maliki n-nāsi, Ilāhi n-nāsi, min sharri l-waswāsi l-khannāsi, lladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri n-nāsi, mina l-jinnati wa-n-nās﴿.
"Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, from the evil of darkness as it descends, from the evil of those who blow upon knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.'" (113:1–5)
"Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of humankind, the King of humankind, the God of humankind, from the evil of the whisperer who retreats, who whispers into the hearts of humankind, from among jinn and humankind.'" (114:1–6)
