Dua for New Moon
Dua 1: Asking for Faith, Peace, and Blessing at the New Moon
Talhah ibn Ubaydullah I reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the new moon, he would say the following supplication.
اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ ❁ وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ ❁ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ ❁
Allāhumma ahlilhu ʿalaynā bi-l-yumni wa-l-īmāni, wa-s-salāmati wa-l-islāmi, Rabbī wa-Rabbuka Llāh.
O Allah, bring this new moon upon us with blessing and faith, with peace and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.

Dua 2: Asking for Safety, Faith, and Guidance at the New Moon
Ibn Umar I reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the new moon, he would say the following supplication.
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ❁ اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ ❁ وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ ❁ وَالتَّوْفِيقِ لِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى ❁ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ ❁
Allāhu akbar. Allāhumma ahlilhu ʿalaynā bi-l-amni wa-l-īmāni, wa-s-salāmati wa-l-islāmi, wa-t-tawfīqi li-mā tuḥibbu wa-tarḍā, Rabbunā wa-Rabbuka Llāh.
Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, bring this new moon upon us with safety and faith, with peace and Islam, and with success in doing what You love and are pleased with. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.

Dua 3: Asking for Good and Guidance at the New Moon
Qatadah I reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the new moon, he would say three times, “A new moon of good and guidance.” He would then affirm his faith in the One Who created it and praise Allah for the passing of one month and the arrival of another.
هِلَالُ خَيْرٍ وَرُشْدٍ ❁ هِلَالُ خَيْرٍ وَرُشْدٍ ❁ هِلَالُ خَيْرٍ وَرُشْدٍ ❁ آمَنْتُ بِالَّذِي خَلَقَكَ ❁ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي ذَهَبَ بِشَهْرِ كَذَا وَجَاءَ بِشَهْرِ كَذَا ❁
Hilālu khayrin wa-rushdin, hilālu khayrin wa-rushdin, hilālu khayrin wa-rushdin, āmantu bi-lladhī khalaqak. Al-ḥamdu li-Llāhi lladhī dhahaba bi-shahri kadhā wa-jā'a bi-shahri kadhā.
A new moon of goodness and guidance, a new moon of goodness and guidance, a new moon of goodness and guidance. I believe in the One Who created you. Praise belongs to Allah, Who has taken away such-and-such a month and brought such-and-such a month.

Dua 4: Asking for Blessing in Rajab and Sha'ban
Anas I reported that when the month of Rajab began, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would supplicate for blessing in Rajab and Sha’ban and ask Allah to allow them to reach Ramadan.
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي رَجَبٍ وَشَعْبَانَ ❁ وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ ❁
Allāhumma bārik lanā fī Rajabin wa-Shaʿbāna, wa-ballighnā Ramaḍān.
O Allah, bless us in Rajab and Sha'ban, and allow us to reach Ramadan.
