Dua for Going to the Masjid
Dua 1: Asking Allah for Light When Going to the Masjid
Ibn Abbas I reported that on a night when he stayed at the house of his aunt Maymunah J, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out for the Fajr prayer and made this supplication:
Allāhumma jʿal fī qalbī nūran, wa-fī lisānī nūran, wa-jʿal fī samʿī nūran, wa-jʿal fī baṣarī nūran, wa-jʿal min khalfī nūran, wa-min amāmī nūran, wa-jʿal min fawqī nūran, wa-min taḥtī nūran. Allāhumma aʿṭinī nūrā.
O Allah, place light in my heart, and light in my tongue. Place light in my hearing and light in my sight. Place light behind me and light before me. Place light above me and light beneath me. O Allah, grant me light.

Dua 2: Seeking Protection When Setting Out for Prayer
Bilal I reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite this supplication when setting out for prayer:
Bismi Llāhi, āmantu bi-Llāhi, tawakkaltu ʿalā Llāhi, lā ḥawla wa-lā quwwata illā bi-Llāh. Allāhumma bi-ḥaqqi s-sā'ilīna ʿalayka, wa-bi-ḥaqqi makhrajī hādhā, fa-innī lam akhruj asharan, wa-lā baṭaran, wa-lā riyā'an, wa-lā sumʿatan, kharajtu btighā'a marḍātika, wa-ttiqā'a sakhaṭika, as'aluka an tuʿīdhanī mina n-nāri, wa-an tudkhilanī l-jannah.
In the name of Allah. I believe in Allah. I place my trust in Allah. There is no power and no strength except through Allah. O Allah, by the right of those who ask You, and by the right of this going out of mine, I have not gone out in arrogance, pride, showing off, or seeking renown. I have gone out seeking Your pleasure and guarding myself against Your displeasure. I ask You to protect me from the Fire and admit me into Paradise.
