Dua for Entering Home
Dua 1: What to Say When Entering One’s House
It is mustahabb to say “In the name of Allah,” to remember Allah, and to offer greetings when entering one’s house, whether or not anyone else is present. This is based on the words of Allah: “When you enter houses, greet yourselves with a greeting from Allah, blessed and good.”

Seeking Permission to Enter a House
The Sunnah is to offer greetings before seeking permission to enter, while standing at the door in a manner that prevents one from seeing inside the house. One should say: “Peace be upon you. May I enter?” If there is no response, permission may be sought up to three times. If there is still no reply, one should leave.
Rib’i ibn Hirash I reported that a man from Banu Amir sought permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was in his house. The man said, “May I enter?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told his servant: “Go out to him and teach him how to seek permission. Tell him to say: ‘Peace be upon you. May I enter?’” The man heard this and said it, whereupon the Prophet ﷺ gave him permission to enter.
