Dua for Bad Dreams
Dua 1: For Protection From Harmful Dreams
The Prophet ﷺ said: “If any one of you has a dream that he dislikes, he should spit lightly three times to his left and say: ‘O Allah, I seek Your protection from the work of Shaytan and from evil dreams.’ Then it will not harm him.”
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَسَيِّئَاتِ الْأَحْلَامِ ❁
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min ʿamali sh-shayṭāni wa-sayyi'āti l-aḥlām.
O Allah, I seek Your protection from the work of Shaytan and from evil dreams.

Dua 2: For Protection When Startled During Sleep
Amr ibn Shuayb I narrated from his father, who narrated from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would teach the Companions these words to recite at times of fear and distress. Abdullah ibn Amr I would teach the supplication to his children who were able to understand it, while for those who were too young, he would write it down and place it around their necks.
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ ❁ وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ ❁
Aʿūdhu bi-kalimāti Llāhi t-tāmmati min ghaḍabihi wa-sharri ʿibādihi, wa-min hamazāti sh-shayāṭīni wa-an yaḥḍurūn.
I seek protection in the Perfect Words of Allah from His wrath, from the evil of His slaves, from the incitements of the devils, and from their coming near me.
