Darood Lakhi
Darood Lakhi or Darood-e-Lakhi (Urdu: درود لكهي; “The Thousand-Fold Salutation”) is a prayer upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ attributed to Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi. It is narrated that the Sultan would recite one thousand salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ every morning and evening with great humility and devotion. As he spent much of his time in worship, some affairs of his sultanate were neglected. One night he went to sleep, and he saw the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in a dream. The Prophet ﷺ taught him this prayer and instructed him to recite it after the Fajr prayer, informing him that its reward would be equivalent to that of reciting one thousand salutations upon him ﷺ.
